The Lagos State Government is investigating recent findings on the cause of death of a doctor in August, due to an elevator accident at Udan Hospital, Lagos Island. In a press release, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Olumide Sogunle, stated that the Lagos State Government has already taken initial steps.
Following the Odan Hospital elevator incident, the Lagos State General Manager of Infrastructure has been suspended and his name blacklisted as elevator facility managers. The installation of the discussed elevator is related to 2021. The government spokesperson said: “The contractors for the installation and maintenance of this elevator are being interrogated by the police. “In addition, they ordered the Lagos Safety Commission to inspect all elevators in government offices after the incident.”
