Rutgers University Professor Jason announced to ELEVATOR WORLD that Cities in the Sky will be published as his new book. The book, titled Cities in the Sky: The Quest to Build the World’s Tallest Skyscrapers, will be published by Scribner Books in May.
The book Cities in the Sky takes the reader to the big cities of the world such as Chicago, New York, London and Hong Kong and introduces them to the famous skyscrapers of these cities.
This book dispels the misconceptions and myths about tall buildings and explains the reasons for the construction of the tallest buildings in the world, especially the buildings of the Arabian Peninsula and mainland China.
The book begins in Chicago in the 1880s, then moves to New York and post-World War II America. The final section of the book takes a global view, covering the good, the bad and the ugly of skyscrapers and predicting where we will go in the future.
