Otis was recognized by the Disability Equality Index as a Best Employer for Disability Employment for its commitment to hiring and employing people with disabilities. Otis scores 100 in Brazil, Canada, and the UK, 80 in India, and 90 in the United States for hiring people with disabilities.

In 2024, some 542 companies used the Disability Equality Index to benchmark their efforts to include people with disabilities in the company. This index measures culture and leadership, company-wide outreach, hiring practices, community engagement, supplier diversity and responsible procurement.
Businesses with a score of 80 or higher are recognized as best places to work for people with disabilities.
